apibrėžtis Zenitinės artilerijos šaudymas į oro taikinius padaliniais (baterijomis, būriais). Zenitinės valdomosios raketos į taikinį nutaikomos automatiškai, naudojant nuotolinio valdymo sistemą arba nusitaikančiąsias raketas. Oro taikinys naikinamas raketai pataikius į taikinį arba priartėjus prie taikinio tokiu nuotoliu, kuriuo, suveikus radijo sprogdikliui, taikinį pažeidžia kovinės dalies skeveldros arba ardomoji sprogimo veikmė. Šaudant zenitinei artilerijai, nuolatos nustatomos pasitikimo taško, iki kurio taikinys ir sviedinys juda nuo šūvio momento vieną ir tą patį laiką, koordinatės (pabūklai nutaikomi į šį tašką); t. p. gali būti šaudoma tiesioginiu taikymu ir užtveriamąja ugnimi. Šaudoma šūvių serijomis (mažo kalibro zenitinė artilerija), salvėmis ir nenutrūkstama ugnimi.
